Checked against public sources, physician reviewed

Which doctor do I need?

Two questions in, right guide out. The right doctor, the first time.

This tool matches your situation to the kind of doctor who usually handles it, then hands you the guide for that specialty and the verified local options from this site's listings. It does not diagnose anything: you pick who the visit is for and what kind of problem it is, and the tool routes you to the same pages you could reach by browsing, just faster. If nothing fits neatly, the general route lands you at primary care, which is the honest answer to most "not sure" situations anyway.

  • Primary care: checkups, prescriptions, and a doctor who knows you.
  • Orthopedics: bone, joint, muscle, and sports injuries.
  • Dermatology: skin checks, rashes, and sun damage.
  • Cardiology: heart health, blood pressure, and follow-up care.
  • Women's health: gynecology, prenatal care, and screenings.
  • Pediatrics: doctors who see children on the island.
  • Mental health: therapy, counseling, and psychiatric care.
  • Dental: dentists on the island, including urgent tooth problems.

This tool is for education only. It does not diagnose any condition and does not replace an evaluation by a physician.

How the matching works

No cleverness, by design. The tool holds eight problem routes: orthopedics, dermatology, cardiology, women's health, mental health, dental, primary care for the general route, and a sick-right-now boundary route. Choosing a child routes most categories through pediatrics first, with the specialty guide linked as the second stop; children's injuries keep the direct orthopedics route because prompt evaluation matters. The sick-right-now option is deliberately a boundary: choosing care for today is a facility decision, which is KeyWestHealthcare's job, and the tool says so plainly rather than pretending otherwise.

Where the answers come from

The routing mirrors the same care-path logic KeyWestHealthcare publishes for right-now decisions, so the two sites never disagree about the urgent boundary. The practice listings inside each result come from this guide's verification process, working phone and street address checked against public sources, described in full at how we verify listings.
