About KeyWestDoc

A local guide to finding and seeing the right doctor in Key West.

KeyWestDoc is a local guide to finding and seeing the right doctor in Key West: primary care, concierge medicine, specialists, same-day access, and the self-pay path, all with verified phone numbers, dated source notes, and honest writing about what actually lives on this island and what does not. The promise fits in one line: the right doctor, the first time.

Why this exists

Search "doctor key west" and you get national directories full of stale numbers, closed practices, and clinicians who left the island years ago. Meanwhile the real question, how does a person on a small island actually get seen, goes unanswered. This guide closes that gap the unglamorous way: a small set of listings checked against public sources, phone verification as the standard, dated source notes on every card, and guides that explain the island's seasonal rhythms instead of pretending they do not exist. The which-doctor tool and the guides all draw from the same verified data.

How to use it

Start wherever your question starts. If you know what you need, the six guides on the home page go straight to it: primary care, concierge medicine, same-day access, specialists, self-pay, and establishing care. If you are not sure, the two-question tool sorts it out. Every practice card you meet along the way shows a source note telling you exactly how far verification has gone, a working number, and the same closing line, because it is the truest sentence on this island: availability changes, please call ahead to confirm.

Who runs it, stated plainly

This site is owned by the physician behind Key West Concierge Orthopedics, an orthopedic practice in Key West. That is the whole disclosure, and here is exactly what it means. The orthopedics category lists that practice as a normal entry, same card format, same rules, alphabetical order like everyone else. And here is what it does not mean: no practice pays to be listed, no listing can buy a better position, and the non-orthopedic guides route you by your situation, not toward anyone's business. We are an independent guide. We do not provide medical care and we are not paid for placement. If you ever find a page on this site that reads otherwise, the method has failed and we want to know.

Who reviews it

Medical review on an access guide means a physician checks that the medical framing is sound: that emergency thresholds are right, that "see a doctor for this, the ER for that" boundaries are drawn where medicine draws them, and that nothing on these pages plays diagnostician. It does not mean the reviewer has examined you, and nothing here replaces a visit with a doctor who has. Review happens before pages publish and again when they change.

What this site never does

It never treats patients; it is a guide and a map, not a clinic. It never takes payment for listings or placement; inclusion is free and earned by verification. And it never answers "where do I go right now": that urgent, facility-level decision belongs to KeyWestHealthcare.com, which handles it properly. What it does instead is documented step by step at how we verify listings, which is the page to read if you want to see the machinery.
